Lukas Nemecz: Successful return from Africa with a strong finish!

golf professional Lukas Nemecz experienced an emotional roller coaster ride on his five-week trip to Africa. The Styrian started strongly with a training camp in Fancourt, but then had to accept bitter setbacks on three challenge tournaments in South Africa. He finally achieved his comeback at the DP World Tour tournament in Nairobi, where he took 20th place with a strong finish and prize money of over 25,000 euros. Nemecz was optimistic: "A place in the top 20 is always positive. It was really fine at the end of a hard trip," said the golfer. However, he regrets a small trailer who cost him a top ten place, which has reduced his chances of more starting opportunities. He is now seamless in preparation for the Austrian Open in the GC Gut Altentann, which will take place from May 29 to June 1st. "This will be a huge highlight," he is already looking forward to the home tournament, for which he is planning intensive training sessions.

Overall, the 2023 season for Lukas Nemecz was characterized by ups and downs. As golf.at it was a mixed time at the dp World Tour. Nemecz only achieved 14 cuts in 28 tournaments, with a best result of 5th place at the Magical Kenya Open. After a difficult course with health problems, including an eye inflammation and shoulder complaints, he fought back at the end of the season, which finally secured an important 5th place at the Cazoo Open de France. This result was the turning point of his season and secured him almost 130,000 euros - the highest prize money of his career.
However, the challenges do not end here. A look into the future promises tension: The DP World Tour is planning many innovations for 2024 to make the race for the "Race to Dubai" more exciting. Nemecz will be able to count on the support of Bernd Wiesberger, who returns from the LIV Golf League, and Matthias Schwab, who also has a game of the game for the DP World Tour. Together they hope to keep the red-white-red flag on the international golf stage.
