Kyiv under fire: Klitschko warns citizens and calls for evacuation
Kiew, Ukraine - in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, alerted Mayor Vitali Klitschko the population to go into shelter. The reason for this was intensive Russian air strikes, in which debris of a shot object plunged into a residential building and caused a fire there.
Vitali Klitschko, known not only as a successful boxer, but also as a significant political figure in Ukraine, has campaigned for Kiev's defense since the beginning of the Russian War of Agency. His experiences in sport, where he successfully contested numerous fights as world champion, flow into his leadership in times of crisis. Klitschko, whose boxing career with 45 fights won, including 41 by K.O., was impressive, has also been intensively involved in politics after his career. In recent years he has repeatedly entered democracy and resistance to Russian imperialism, especially in the role of mayor of Kiev, where he coordinated the organization of the city's defense during the ongoing conflict. According to wikipedia he played a decisive role in the so-called orange revolution and is still a central player in the efforts to protect the city and the country.
The incidents in Kiev are part of a larger pattern of attacks by Russia in Ukrainian cities that have been going on for over three years. Despite the danger, Klitschko remains determined to defend the capital and is working on maintaining the critical infrastructure during the attacks on the city. The mayor appeals to the citizens to be vigilant and to get to safety when attacking.
