In memory of Christian Mandl: A life for agriculture!
On February 20, 2025, the estimated president of the Styria Chamber of Agriculture, Ing. Christian Mandl, died at the age of 76 after a short, serious illness. This sad news was published today by the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture (oil act). Mandl, a trained agricultural engineer, had an impressive career in agriculture and campaigned for the training of young people in agriculture and forestry throughout his life. Since his first election to the General Assembly of the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture in 1983, he led this organization for many years and was elected president in 2000. He was a central figure in the industry and is remembered by many as a friend, as oil act president Ing. Andreas Freistetter emphasized. This praised Mandl's tireless commitment to the concerns of the employees in agriculture and forestry when he said: "We not only lost a chairman, president and colleague, but a friend!"

Christian Mandl leaves a heir that is characterized by commitment and dedication. His successor, the previous Vice President Ing. Eduard Zentner, was unanimously elected as the new president of the Chamber of Agriculture. Zentner, the 52-year-old department head in agricultural research, will continue the business. Mandl's commitment was also not unnoticed: at a festive event, the “Great Golden Medal of Honor with the Stern” was awarded for his services to the state of Styria. In addition, he received the golden honor of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture for his excellent cooperation and his commitment at the federal level.
