Guardiola quits trainer-in: it is enough, no new challenges!
In a surprising interview with the Spanish top chef Dani Garcia, pep Guardiola announced that his journey as a coach at Manchester City will be the last stop of his club career. "I feel that it is enough. I'll stop. I will not take over any other team," said the 53-year-old. Guardiola, who has held the reins at City since summer 2016 and led the club to six championships and the Champions League title 2023, is tired of the constant challenge of training a new team. "The thought of starting somewhere else, all the training and so on. No, no, no," says Guardiola, who now wants to refresh his strength for possibly other coaches or tasks, as he himself mentioned.
His contract with Manchester City was recently extended until summer 2027, but the current season is anything but optimal for the "Sky Blues", with a gap of eight points to the league leader FC Liverpool. Despite these difficulties, Guardiola remains an undisputed giant in the football business. He has won 15 significant titles so far, including six championships in seven years and the Champions League. During his career, Guardiola has already won a total of 32 large trophies, although he was also able to shine in his previous stations at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, such as Apnews.com reported.
future without further club
Guardiola made it clear that he does not intend to switch to Manchester City to another club. He sees the opportunity to work as a national coach at some point, but he excludes a return to a club. "Maybe a national team, but that's something else," said the starting coach. The idea of completely ending his career to Manchester City also employs him; Guardiola said: “I want to end it and play golf, but I can't. I think that would stop me.”
