On January 1, 2025, numerous innovations came into force in Munich that affect both the everyday life of the residents and the urban infrastructure. These changes include adaptations in the transport network, increases in fees and taxis as well as a fundamental reform in property tax.

The postage costs also increase with the new year: a standard letter now costs 95 cents.

The new rate of 824 percent is intended to ensure that the income of the city of Munich remain roughly at the previous level.
