Third arrest for fire at the PM Starmer house in UK
The British police arrested a third man as part of an investigation into a series of arson attacks in northern London. These attacks also include a fire in a house that includes Prime Minister Keir Strander.
arrests and investigations
A 34-year-old man was arrested in Chelsea on Monday morning, in the southwest of London, under the suspicion of the conspiracy for arson with the intention of endangering life, the Metropolitan Police London shared in a statement.
In addition, two other men were arrested-21-year-old Ukrainian citizen Roman Lavrynovych and a 26-year-old man whose name has not yet been published. Lavrynovych was confronted with three charges for arson with the intention of endangering life. These incidents occurred last week.
The fire in the property of Keir Strandmer
The British police were called to the fire at Stars Haus in Kentish Town, North London last week. This is the constituency he represents. Fortunately, there was no injuries in the incident, but the entrance to the building was damaged. Strander previously lived with his wife and two children at this address before moving to his official residence in the 10 Downing Street last July.
other arson attacks in the area
The police also examine two further incidents: a fire at the entrance of a apartment block in the nearby Islington area and a fire that affects a vehicle, a Toyota RAV4. Both incidents occurred on different days. The car and the affected properties are related to Straers, as the Westminster Magistrates ’Court could be heard at Lavrynovych's trial on Friday.
Investigations by the anti-terrorist police
Since the prime minister is involved in the matter, the anti-terrorist police have taken over the investigation into the fires. Strander described the incidents as "attack on all of us, on our democracy and the values we stand for."
