Christmas is just around the corner: tips for responsible pet posture!
Spandau, Deutschland - The veterinary and food supervision of the Spandau regulatory office initiates an alarming trend: In 2024, almost 100 animals have already been secured, many of them were kept in non-appropriate conditions. District councilor Tanja Franzke warns against giving away pets carelessly, especially in the festive time around Christmas. "Pets are not gifts, but a long -term responsibility," says Franzke. Over 40 dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds were taken into care this year due to poor attitude. In many cases there were violations of animal disease law, for example due to inadequate vaccinations. These dangerous circumstances not only affect the well -being of the animals, but also a challenge for the authorities, since the accommodation and care of the confiscated animals are associated with considerable costs.
important call for responsibility
Franzke calls all potential pet owners to a careful consideration before they choose an animal. It is crucial to inform yourself comprehensively in advance and to take the responsibility that a pet brings with it seriously. Instead of giving away an animal for Christmas, be it advisable to visit the overcrowded animal shelters after the holidays to find a new four -legged friend. The veterinary and food supervision is responsible, among other things, for approval for breeding, attitude and trade in animals. Appointments for personal consultations can only be arranged by phone on the number (030) 90279 2557.
The increasing number of seized animals shows the urgency of the concern and the need to ensure that they are appropriate. The authorities do everything they can to accommodate the animals in reasonable accommodations after their securing.
