Upper Austria distinguishes outstanding projects of development cooperation!
Linz, Österreich - Linz, 07.01.2025 - Great news for everyone who is committed to development cooperation! The state of Upper Austria and the Diocese of Linz have opened the tender for the renowned Eduard Ploier prices, which are awarded for the second time. These prices should promote development cooperation (EZA) and honor both individuals and projects that are committed to this important area. The award ceremony is endowed with a total of 24,000 euros and applications are possible until March 24, such as the kathpress reported.
Promotion of fair trade practices
In connection with the EZA campaign, fair trade is actively promoted in Upper Austria. Fairtrade products from the shelves of food trade are not only a way to combat poverty, but also to support sustainable economic and social development. The country's action emphasizes the importance of fair trade that improves the living and working conditions of the people in the countries of origin. In the Upper Austrian world shops, interested buyers find high-quality, handmade products that have been produced under fair conditions, as Land-oberoesterreich.Gv.at
Governor Thomas Stelzer described Upper Austria as a “land of cooperation”, which again participated in EZA measures and international help with 2.1 million euros in 2025. Ploier prices are not only an honor for the committed, but also a clear recognition of the importance of help for self-help in development cooperation.
