Clinic fights for doctors: Nordhausen relies on personal contacts!
The Südharz Klinikum is looking for new ways to interest young doctors in the clinic. In order to address medical students in a targeted manner, direct contact is maintained at universities. The event "Meet the Expert" took place in Göttingen last December, in which 30 medical students took part in the 11th and 12th semesters. The field of participants was limited to 20 people, so that ten other interested parties had to be put on the waiting list.
During the event,Sven Köhn, who is responsible for personnel marketing, asked why medical students should work in large groups in a university clinic if they could receive one-to-one care in the Südharz Clinic. Senior doctor Dr. med. Diana Hartwig and senior physician Dr. med. Sören Linsel presented case reports from her everyday professional life. The topics of the presentations included "Dr. House in real life" and "how a psychological exceptional situation threatened physical health". The new format was received positively by all participants.
planned events and offers for medical students
For the next year, further events in Central Germany are planned to present the Nordhäuser Klinikum as a full supplier. Medical students in the practical year (PJ) benefit from professional care, weekly PJ lessons, free accommodation and meals as well as an allowance. The university and the surrounding area also offer many advantages.
The Südharz Klinikum Nordhausen is the largest municipal clinic in Thuringia and an academic teaching hospital of the Jena University Hospital. The students have the opportunity to complete their practical year in the clinic, carry out independent visits under supervision and are looked after by a mentor. You can also take part in weekly PJ seminars and rotate between different specialist areas.
The city of Nordhausen, the northernmost district town of Thuringia with around 42,000 inhabitants, offers a wide range of sports, art and culture. There are attractive offers for the students, including an allowance of € 500, free living opportunities in the personnel home and meals in the canteen. Further amenities include free service clothing, parking spaces on the clinic site and access to the medical specialist library as well as the anvil learning platform.
The clinic has a total of around 800 fully inpatient beds and childcare places in the community psychiatric area and supplies around 28,000 patients inpatient and semi -inpatient every year. With around 1,900 employees and 26 specialist disciplines, institutes and functional areas, the Südharz Klinikum offers a variety of options for medical students.
