Union demands clear rules for women's shelters: New law under criticism!
Aschaffenburg, Deutschland - The CDU/CSU wants to promote a new violence law in the Bundestag with strict conditions. Andrea Lindholz, deputy parliamentary group leader, made it clear that to improve the protection of women from domestic violence, immediate discussions with the federal states are necessary, especially with regard to the financial means for the expansion of women's shelters. Lindholz also considers that only women, and no trans women, should be recorded in these facilities. This was executed in a report by Deutschlandfunk.
In addition to these demands, the possibility of an electronic ankle bracker for violent offenders should be created in order to ensure an effective distance between these and the victims. The Union makes it clear that the current system, which forces women to flee from their apartment from violent men into women's shelters, can no longer be accepted. These developments took place as part of the first reading of the SPD and Greens draft for the violent assistance law in the Bundestag, as in the report of Bundesag.de
Andrea Lindholz not only brings legal policy expertise into the debate, but also has a far -reaching career. She has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2013 and has various management positions within the CSU and its local party. Lindholz has a legal background with specialized focus on family law, which has influenced their view of the necessary reforms and laws in the area of victim protection.
