New construction of the Hirschdorfer Illerbrücke: 8 million euros in funding for Kempten!
On January 9, 2025, it became known that the new construction of the Hirschdorfer Illerbrücke near Kempten will be funded with an amount of 8 million euros. This financing takes place within the framework of the Bavarian local transport financing law. The project is a cooperation between the district of Oberallgäu and the city of Kempten, whereby the total cost of the new building is estimated at around 11.5 million euros.
The city of Kempten will contribute a share of 2 million euros. The construction work is scheduled to begin in March 2025, with a completion of the bridge, which is planned for the end of 2026. Before the actual construction work, a dam presence is carried out to avoid setting. The first phase of the construction work will concentrate on the foundation for the abutments and pillars. The demolition of the old bridge is also part of the new construction project.
