Crisis mood in Seoul: Court checks Yoons controversial office survey!

In South Korea, the political stage is in chaos: the largest opposition party, the Democratic Party (DP), is planning an office procedure against the incumbent President Han Duck soo. Park Chan Dae, the chairman of the DP, announced this during a meeting of the parliament, such as OE24. The opposition MPs accuse Han of preventing important laws to clarify corruption allegations against his predecessor Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife. The Parliament had removed Yoon on December 15 of his office after surprisingly imposed war rights that he lifted again a few hours later. Now the fate of Yoon is in the hands of the Constitutional Court, which will negotiate the legality of his dismissal on December 27th

resignation in the government party

In the middle of this government crisis, the chairman of the government party, Han Duck Hoon, has also declared his resignation. He justified this step by making it impossible for him to continue to perform his tasks. Despite internal party resistance, he supported Yoon's survey, but does not regret his resignation. According to taz , the South Korean constitutional court has up to six months to decide whether Yoon is being used again or not. The allegations against Yoon to have raised war law without sufficient reason, throw a serious light on the political stability of the country and the limits of the presidency in times of crisis.

The decision of the Constitutional Court is of crucial importance, since at least six of the nine judges have to vote for an office. In view of three vacants, this could influence the dynamics of the decision. Yoon has rejected all allegations and, despite the tumultuous political situation in South Korea, remains a controversial figure.
