On the way to the child -friendly community: opportunities for Alsfeld!

In Alsfeld, a relevant event to promote child -friendly municipalities was held on December 24, 2024. Organized by the Kinderschutzbund Lauterbach in cooperation with the youth welfare office of the Vogelsberg district, the event was visited by over 30 participants. Eva Bernhardt, a representative of the Child Protection Association, emphasized the importance of child rights and the need to include young people in municipal decisions. "The way to the child-friendly community" was the leading topic of the event, as well as from Oberhessen-Live.de

dr. Heide-Rose Brückner, co-founder of the association "Child-friendly municipality", informed about the methods of implementing children's rights in political processes. Here she made it clear that the participation of children is legally anchored, both through the UN Convention on the Rights of Children and by Hessian laws. The organizers agreed that this will not be the last event of this kind in Vogelsbergkreis. The focus on the participation of children and adolescents is seen as the key to the development of a child and youth-friendly environment. In cooperation between politics, administration and youth work, there is great potential to integrate the rights of children more into the past decision -making processes, as the initiative shows, which also on Democracy-leben.de

The event made it clear the commitment of those involved to focus even more on the concerns of children and adolescents in the future and to ensure that their votes are heard in important decisions.
