Thuringia's volunteer foundation: New laws bring a breath of fresh air!

Thüringen, Deutschland - Thuringia's honorary office foundation faces significant changes that are initiated by a new volunteer law. Chairman Frank Krätzschmar describes the law that has entered into force since the beginning of the year as an important opportunity, but the implementation of which requires adjustments in the organization.

The central changes are to adapt the foundation's application for funding. Krätzschmar announced that the foundation's office should be enlarged in order to speed up the processing of the applications and to process them digitally in the future. The aim of these measures is to award funding promptly.

strengthening civic engagement

Another goal of the new law is to increase the number of regional volunteer agencies in the Free State. 19 of these agencies currently exist. Over 750,000 Thuringian are involved in various clubs, associations or initiatives.

The core of the new law represents a state program to strengthen civic engagement. Any every year, 15 million euros from the state budget are to be provided in order to further support volunteering in Thuringia. Further information about the new volunteer law can be found in the documents of the Thuringian state parliament, as can be seen on parldok.thueringer-landtag.de
