In the Russian region Orjol, students receive financial support of 100,000 rubles, which corresponds to around 1,089 euros if they register their pregnancy. This measure is part of a broader strategy of the government to combat the population loss in Russia. The decree of this pregnancy premium was issued by governor Andrej Klytschkow and published in the independent internet portal "Meduza".

The premium applies not only to the student, but also to students and was expanded to include the age groups in general and vocational schools in December 2024. Interestingly, there is no age limit, which means that even very young girls who usually start school in Russia at the age of six to seven years are eligible for this financial support.
