Future for the region: New Faul Tower in Siegharts Nachrichten!

Sieghartskirchen, Österreich - On December 3, the groundbreaking ceremony for a new rotten tower of the sewage treatment plant of the municipal water association (GAV) took place in the southeastern Tullnerfeld. The event was headed by the chairwoman Josefa Geiger and attracted numerous guests of honor, including member of the state parliament Bernhard Heinreichsberger, who was represented by Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner. The ambitious project, which is associated with investment costs of around 3 million euros, aims to treat the sewage sludge more efficiently in the future. Bacteria are used for about 30 days at a temperature of 37 degrees to reduce the biological ingredients and generate foul gas, which is then converted into electricity and heat in three combined heat and power plants. This supplies the sewage treatment plant itself.

technological progress and sustainable solutions

The planning and implementation of the project was taken over by renowned companies, including PT Ing. Peter Trattner and GWT Society for Water and Heat Technology. This is an important step, since the GAV has continuously reached its capacity limits since its foundation in 1974. Now the system is being expanded to a capacity for 34,000 inhabitants, which takes into account the associated challenges of the rising population and the settlement of new companies.
Additional technologies for efficient wastewater treatment are also the focus. A research project in cooperation with the Technical University of Ulm has shown that the reuse of purified wastewater can be supported by an innovative combination of systems. The UV radiation for disinfection reduces organic loads as well as ammonium and nitrate and reduces germ numbers by 90 percent. This brought the water to drinking water quality-a cost-effective and almost operating cost-free solution that is extremely useful in areas with a need for water recycling, as tia-abwasser reports.
