Christmas for the soul: Fest for the arms in Stuttgart Diakonie!
In the Haus der Diakonie Stuttgart, Christmas this year becomes a special festival for people in poverty and loneliness. Under the name "Eva’s Stall", the Evangelical Society invites you to a Christmas Christmas on December 24th and 25th. This event is aimed at all those who cannot expect warm food or a family at home. Last year, the organizers counted over 1000 guests, and even more participants are expected for this year, as Birgit Auer reports from the city mission to organize the event.
planned celebrations and offers
The festival day begins on December 24th at 3:45 p.m. with a service in the hospital church. A delicious meal is then served in the Diakonie House, followed by Christmas carols and a performance by the Stuttgart ensemble "Dein Theater". At the end, all guests present receive a small gift. December 25th begins at 11 a.m. with another service and a festival, which contains Zurich sliced and Black Forest cream. In addition, the popular sock boutique opens in which the guests can choose socks that were knitted by volunteers all year round so that nobody with cold feet is sent to the holidays.
The organizers have prepared an extensive catering service for the first festival, which includes 90 kilos of pastries, 24 kilograms of coffee and 400 liters of punch to meet the estimated 500 to 550 guests. This structure is part of the longer tradition of the Evangelical Society, to give everyone the opportunity to dine and meet outside of Christmas, including through the "Eva’s Table" offer, which provides cheap lunches every day, as on Stuttgarter Nachrichten is reported.
