Make star children visible: inaugurated memory tree in Graz!

In Graz, the "Baum der Remenung" will be inaugurated on December 8th, a project by the association "My Star Child", which is supposed to make mourning for deceased children visible in our society. The association, founded by Rainer and Vera Juriatti, has been committed to getting the topic of the star children - children who die before, during or shortly after birth. Juriatti, himself the father of five star children, explained that despite the high number of up to 12,000 children affected, the topic was still subject to silence and lack of understanding. The association managed to finance an online map with help offers for affected parents, which has been available for three years, via the TV show "2 minutes 2 million". More and more people are also using the star photography, which enables parents to create valuable memories, reports a light for the star children

Am Worldwide Candle Lighting Day, who calls people worldwide to commemorate their late children, will take place from 6:30 p.m. a special concert by musician Elisabeth Seibert on the tree of memory. Here parents can shape and attach creative stars for their children, which gives grief a tangible form. Your initiative also follows the support of schools; Pupils from the Viktor Kaplan elementary school have recently handed over stars designed to the Juriatatis and the Graz city council. Rainer Juriatti emphasizes that every loss has its own story, even if the child only lived for a few hours. This perspective is crucial to make an honest and open mourning culture, which is currently still strong in the background, as steiermark.orf.at reports

The increasing number of help offers cannot stir up that communication via this pain is still pubed. Juriatti explains that well -meaning sentences such as "It will have been for something good" can cause the grieving pain. There are now around 30 memorials in Styria for star children, but there is a lack of understanding of the grief of the parents as a whole. The tree of memory should become a place of exchange and common commemoration in order to strengthen the voices of those affected and to raise awareness.
