Climate protection on the route: Greens raise the alarm during negotiations!

In the middle of the current government negotiations, the Greens emphasize that climate protection in the conversations between the ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS is not adequately recognized. "There are three sitting at the table, for climate protection," criticized Minister of Climate Leonore Gewessler. This statement follows the concerns that the ÖVP is planning to "smash" the Ministry of Climate, which signals an alarming development. Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) had recently stated that he did not want "big and fertile" ministries. Gewessler replied that the priority of climate protection in the negotiations "under further" was what the Greens perceive as a bad signal, as well as the Kleine Zeitung reported.

Werner Kogler, party leader of the Greens, confirmed Gewessler's concerns and announced that savings in climate protection measures are feared, especially in view of the need to renovate the budget. "Many measures go out," explained Kogler and also called for an explanation of where the financial means remained that were actually intended for climate protection.
