Traditional restaurant Zipfer Bierhaus closes in Salzburg after 200 years!
A renowned place in Salzburg, the Zipfer Bierhaus, will soon close its doors. After more than 200 years and a glamorous history, the traditional restaurant on the university square, operated by the Zipf brewery since 1907, will close its doors in February 2025. Robert Schwarz, who has headed the restaurant for two decades, has terminated his lease and plans to reorient itself professionally. Despite an excellent assessment of 4.4 stars on Google and consistently high number of visitors, the increasing pressure in the catering trade and the condition of the building led to the decision, such as Oe24 reported.
But another blooms on a historic restaurant in Salzburg: the Schwarzacher Bräustüberl. The Lindinger family, who has been running this restaurant for seven years, was recently awarded the title "Salzburg Beer Bier of the Year", such as Sn.at reported. In particular, the beer sommelier Conrad Seidl, also known as the "beer pope", praised the quality of the homemade beers and the cosiness of the restaurant. The Lindingers now brew their own beer types, including the popular hop gold and a dark beer, and rely on regional ingredients, which further reinforces their success.
The Schwarzacher Bräustüberl, once an unknown jewel, has established itself as a favorite for both locals and tourists thanks to its authentic atmosphere and the tasteful beers. The rustic ambience and the excellent cuisine make a significant contribution to their success, which the Lindinger brings further forward despite the chill of competition from the Zipfer Bierhaus and offers a new home to the beer lovers.
