Technical problem! Hörnbad temporarily closed in Kiel!

Bad news for all leisure swimmers in Kiel: The hearing bath had had to close its leisure area since Sunday due to a technical problem. The city spokesman Nickels Erichsen confirmed that the water quality currently does not allow bathing operations and informed that this restriction remains at least until Tuesday. However, Erichsen expressed cautious optimism that the popular swimming options could be available again from Wednesday. The sports area as well as the sauna and the wellness area, which remain open, are not affected by the closure, such as KN reported .

new regulations from January 2024

While visitors are waiting for a return to swim, there are soon exciting changes in the area of the Kiel baths. From January 2024, children and adolescents up to the age of 18 have the opportunity to get into the Kiel baths free of charge with the Kiel Pass. The passport enables young swimmers to have a personalized value card that is charged with a monthly swimming credit. 7.15 euros per month can be loaded onto the credit, which results in a maximum of 85.80 euros at one year. A visit to the leisure area in the Hörnbad then only costs 1.65 euros per 2.5 hours, reported the City of Kiel .

The cards are now available at the cash register of the hearing bath, and to get a card, families have to present some documents, including a valid ID document. However, this program is not valid for gastronomy and sauna, so that additional costs can be incurred here. The anticipation of the new offer could bring a little ray of hope to the current location for the swimmers while waiting for the recovery of the leisure area in the hearing.
