KTM AG before the greatest bankruptcy: Upper Austria threatens hundreds of bankruptcy!
Mattighofen, Österreich - A dramatic turning point for the Austrian economy: KTM AG, with its headquarters in Mattighofen, faces the greatest corporate bankruptcy in the history of Upper Austria. 250 employees have already been terminated with a mountain of debt of around 1.8 billion euros, and another 400 layoffs are in the room, as the credit protection association (KSV) reports. For 2025, the KSV predicts an alarming wave of bankruptcies with up to 900 bankruptcies that could particularly affect trade, the construction industry and the catering industry, as well as ooe.orf.at
Petra Wögerbauer from KSV warns: "If the economy does not quickly occur, we expect further adjustments in the corporate structures". The reason for this is both increasing energy costs and a lack of staff, which overwhelm many companies. This year, 701 companies had already been affected by bankruptcies. The uncertainty in Germany, an important trading partner, increases the concerns about economic stability in the region, since economic researchers are only forecasting low growth and the government now urgently has to set new impulses so that entrepreneurs and private individuals are relieved, reports Today.at .
The situation remains tense. The bankruptcy wave has not yet reached its climax and could further tighten in the coming months. This could not only endanger the companies concerned, but also numerous jobs in the region. Experts are now calling for the government to act quickly to stabilize the economic structures and prevent further downward trend.
