The warm kitchen of the Grafbofs is open daily from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. In addition, guests can enjoy an “East Tyrol breakfast”, which is offered daily from 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Cozy rooms and a spacious children's playground invite families to spend a good time here. However, the sun terrace remains closed until further notice because it is modernized.

A look at Austrian cuisine

Austrian cuisine has its roots to the Middle Ages when it was characterized by rustic and simple dishes, which mainly included bread, meat, fish and grain products. It was seasoned with the available ingredients, which excluded the need for modern food trends or elaborately. The influence of the Habsburg then led to a large number of international influences: Goulash came from the Hungarians, dumplings from the Bohemia and the coffee house culture was strongly shaped by the Italians.

In the 19th century, Austrian cuisine experienced a heyday that made Viennese cuisine world famous. The coffee houses became social centers, where not only delicious pastries and coffee were served, but also made politics, wrote literature and developed new ideas. This multifaceted history contributes to the current strength and popularity of Austrian gastronomy.
