Team A Dancers conquers the World Masters with impressive dances!

Zell am See, Österreich - On April 1, 2025, the “Team A Dancers”, led by Bernhard Warscher, achieved impressive results at this year's Dancestar World World Auf See. The 47 dancers were able to occupy excellent places in different categories and thus qualify for the amateur world championship at the end of the month. A total of ten podium places in the disciplines of Commercial, Lyrical, Stepp, Urban Dance and Open were won, including gold, four silver and five bronze, such as dolomitenstadt reported.

The qualification of seven choreographies that were recognized for the upcoming World Cup in Poreč is particularly noteworthy. The choreographies include: "Father and Son", "Rock Around", "Joker", "Upside Down", "Party like it's 1920", "Feel Alive" and "Atomic Funk". The success of the dancers reflect the growing popularity of dancing, which is documented by a current survey by the Sinus Institute in cooperation with YouGov. On the occasion of the World Dance Day on April 29, the survey shows that 51% of Germans occasionally dance, with disco dances being the most common form with 44%. In addition, 7% of the respondents state to practice disco dance at least once a month. The results indicate a lively dance culture that is particularly popular with younger people, because 46% of 18 to 29 year olds have visited a disco or a dance café in the past 12 months.

The survey also clarifies the different distribution of dance styles: 33% dance classic standard dances like waltzes, and 20% prefer Latin American dances like salsa. It shows that women dance significantly more often with 57% more often than men (46%). In addition, 10% of the under 30 year olds in the 2016/2017 ball season were at least once on a ball.

Health and social aspects of dancing

Many dancers do this for joy, because 89% simply dance for fun. Fitness is also an important reason for 66% of those surveyed, while 65% dance to escape everyday life. It is particularly interesting that 54% want to make new acquaintances when dancing and 48% use it for self -concentration. In Austria, the enthusiasm for dance is even higher: 68% of the population, with 50% occasional classic dances, such as waltzes. In fact, 56% of the Austrians attended a dance course.

The survey sults indicate that the exercise of dance has not only a cultural but also a sociable component. 28% of the respondents consider it important that their partner can dance well, which is particularly important among women (36%).
