Ingolstadt as a tempting film set: locations for large productions!

Ingolstadt has established itself as an attractive backdrop for film and television productions. The city already served as a location for numerous projects, including classics such as "Die Drawen" (1948) with Montgomery Clift and "Mustleist" (1998) with Heino Ferch and Tobias Moretti. Further remarkable productions are "Anna" (1987) and "The Boss" (2017). This historical city offers many interesting locations that have been researched and documented by the Ingolstadt support society and the city administration.

A goal of these initiatives is to strengthen local service providers such as catering and craft businesses through film productions. In addition, the growing interest in the locations of filming could boost tourism in the region. The Film Commission Bavaria has put together a variety of locations on its website www.filmlocationsbayern.de that can be considered for film productions. These include motorway bridges, fortresses, churches, industrial halls, high -rise buildings and historical buildings.

Profiling Ingolstadt as a film location

Ingolstadt has a rich history that is reflected in its striking buildings and areas. The city wants to position itself as a goal for filmmakers and those interested in history and invites interested filmmakers to propose further locations.

Bayern overall offers a variety of locations, from romantic locks to enchanted castle ruins to fascinating natural scenes and fallow industrial plants. As the Film Commission Bavaria reported, the Bavaria location initiative has been launched since 2014. This project aims to network the film and tourism industry and to open up all of Bavaria for filming.

The Film Commission Bavaria supports filmmakers in all production phases, including the motif search, rotary permits as well as accommodation and logistical services. There is also an online database with possible (public) locations at www.filmlocationsbayern.de, where location tours and scouting tours can also be organized.
