Frankreich - A cinematic adventure of a special kind is brewing in France! The director Houda Benyamina, who became famous by her award -winning film "Divines", ventures into a brave remake of the classic "The Three Musketeers" from 1844. In an original twist, these women wear mustache to stay loyal to their historical role models.

With fresh wind, Benyamina not only confuses the gender roles, but also the origin of the musketers! Among the performers are the Moroccan-born director, the Algerian-born actress Sabrina Ouazani, the Congolese Déborah Lukumuena, and Oulaya Amamra, also from Morocco, who is also the director's sister. This colorful group gives the "Maison du Roi", the royal entourage, a migrant touch from the 21st century.

a new script, a new perspective

There is also a fresh wind in the script, which comes from Juliette Sales and Fabien Suarez. In an unexpected plot twist, which plays in the 19th century, the audience discovered through the eyes of the young Sara, a girl on the run that the intrepid musketers are actually women! Sara magically attracts this surprising unveiling, so that she joins the brave musketers on their way to freedom.

The film, which was produced with impressive 10.7 million euros and is sponsored generously from public funds, is due to come to French cinemas on January 22, 2025. Then it says bravely: "One for everyone, all for one!" A sentence that writes feminist unity in film history!
