The two officers were traveling from Linz to Grein with a radio car when they noticed a driver who drove uncertainly along the street. When the understanding control was planned, the woman turned in a panic reaction and accelerated to drive towards Mauthausen at an excessive speed. On the flight, the police informed the state control center about the chase, which now began.

Shortly afterwards, the officials managed to stop the vehicle with Wiener Neustädter license plate in Mauthausen. An alcoovort test was negative, but the woman refused to undergo a clinical addictive examination. As a result, the driver's license was temporarily withdrawn and the onward journey was prohibited. The inspection revealed her strong uncooperative attitude, while she repeatedly stated, not to know how it was on the B3 or where it was, as reported on 5min.at.

documentary about Mauthausen

The Mauthausen scene not only plays a role in the current police control, but also requires memory of its dark story. A remarkable documentary, "Mauthausen-Two Life", highlights the experiences of Stanisław Leszczyński and Franz Hackl during the Nazi regime. In this contemporary work by Simon Wieland, the terrible experiences of a prisoner and a locksmith apprenticeship in the Mauthausen concentration camp are presented in parallel. It illustrates how strongly the human and inhumane side is interwoven in the darkness of history. The film will be presented online from February 25 to March 4, 2021, as reported.
