Alpine film festival in danger: Gastein relies on music instead of films!
The fate of the Alpine film festival in Bad Gastein is on the brink! After only two expenses, the film festival is faced with a drastic pruning in the subsidies, as the Krone . The local tourism association has decided to delete the financial means and instead invest in music events. This year, six illuminated music events are to take place in the Gastein Valley. This is a hard blow for festival organizer Frank Krause, especially since he has already won well-known personalities like the actresses Sunnyi Melles and Iris Berben as patron.
The financial support that Krause urgently needs seems to be a long way off. "It absolutely needs partners who participate in the financing," he emphasizes. The tourism association wants to provide access to the Vienna Saal for the duration of the festival free of charge and is open to further discussions, but the situation remains tense.
