Two serious traffic accidents shake Vienna - drivers flee!
In the early morning hours of March 2, 2025, there were two dramatic traffic accidents in Vienna, which shook the city. At the Lerchenfeld belt, a car with three inmates lost control and raced against a tree. The vehicle had previously strayed from the street, had run over a curb and uprooted the tree before it opened with full force. Fortunately, all passengers escaped unharmed, even before the professional fire brigade Vienna arrived to secure the scene. They pulled the accident car from the tree with a winch and sucked the tree to clear the road again.
Another accident occurred at the Gaudenzdorfer belt almost at the same time. Here there was a clash of two vehicles in a tight left turn. One of the cars hurled and crashed into the rear of a parked coach, while the other was badly damaged on a parking strip. A person was injured in this incident and had to be taken to the hospital. The fire brigade ensured that leaked liquids were bound and removed the rubble from the street. Here, too, the MA 48 took over the cleaning of the road and pulled the damaged vehicle with a load chain from the coach, as reported on wien.orf.at .
