Water pipe break in Bad Ischl: Fire brigade saves flooded basement!
On Saturday morning, December 14, 2024, the Reitorndorf fire brigade in Bad Ischl was alerted. The reason was a defective water pipe in Maxquellgasse, which led to a massive flooding of a basement. The alarm took place at 6:30 a.m., and the fire brigade was quickly on site, supported by a caretaker present. Together, the emergency services managed to close the damaged management and thus prevent further damage, such as the meindezirk.at reported.
After closing the management, operations manager Andreas Reiter gave the command to pump out the basement with a diving pump and a wet vacuum. These measures were implemented quickly, so that the fire brigade's comrades were able to move back to the fire station at 9:22 a.m. and produce the operational readiness there. A total of seven people were deployed with a small fire engine and a watercraft, informed the volunteer fire brigade Bad Ischl .
