Risk of forest fire in Tyrol: This is how you protect yourself from fire!

A dramatic forest fire caused excitement at the weekend in the Tyrolean district of Landeck. In Fendels the fire broke out on Saturday afternoon below a gondola lift, luckily there were no people in the gondolas. The fire brigade had to cease to combat the fire due to the darkness in the late evening, but on Sunday morning the extinguishing work continued to death. Up to this point, around 1.5 hectares had already been affected by the fire. The police finally confirmed in the early Sunday afternoon that "fire from" could be given. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the cause of the fire remains unclear for the time being, as on Sn.at reported.

The assignment was supported by around 90 to 100 firefighters who came with twelve vehicles and two extinguishing helicopters from nine surrounding communities. The Ried mountain rescue in the Oberinntal was also on site with eight people to support the emergency services. On Sunday morning, however, another fire broke out at 1,480 meters in Fendels, this time also for unexplained cause. The fire was quickly deleted without injuries. In order to further sharpen the dangers of forest fires, Governor Anton Mattle appealed to the population of being particularly careful in forest and meadow areas, since the very dry conditions recover considerable fire risk, as tirol.orf . He emphasized that even the smallest carelessness, such as a thrown away cigarette or a glass bottle, can trigger a forest fire.

The concerns about possible forest fires are particularly present in Tyrol, since the fire in neighboring Vinschgau has made the danger clear. The competent authorities have therefore decided to regulate a regulation that limits the entered forest areas. The effects of forest fires are not only an ecological nature, also the economic damage to forest owners and the endangerment of settlements, especially from erosion after a fire, are far -reaching consequences, as State Forest Director Josef Fuchs warned.
