In a dramatic use, 140 emergency services searched feverishly at the weekend for a 49-year-old resident of a retirement home in Eschenlohe, who is urgently dependent on medication. The search that started on Saturday was initially discontinued on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. But the hope remained, because the man had disappeared without a trace and there was great concern about his well -being.

The surprising turn came late on Sunday evening: the missing person was discovered at the train station in Straubing! Police officers who were on site because of another matter recognized the confused man. He was intact on the outside, but was strongly disoriented and was immediately instructed to a clinic. As he got to Straubing, there is a mystery, but the police suspect that he could have risen on a train.

intensive search for no success

The search in and around Eschenlohe was a massive undertaking: around 70 volunteers from the fire brigades from Eschenlohe, Murnau, Oberau and Partenkirchen as well as about 25 rescue workers with search dogs and 20 police officers were deployed. Even the water watches and the mountain rescue guard were mobilized, while a helicopter and drones flew the rough terrain. Despite all efforts and intensive searches at night, the man initially disappeared, which only intensified the worries about his health and security.

The search was interrupted at 1 a.m. due to poor vision conditions and resumed on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. The police had already considered that the 49-year-old could be in Werdenfelser Land or possibly traveled to Munich by train. It was worrying that he had neither a cell phone nor payment of payment, which also dramatized the situation.
