Tragic traffic accidents: S37 remains dangerous despite the expansion!

In a tragic turn of events, a fatal traffic accident occurred on Friday afternoon near St. Michael am Zollfeld. A car and a truck collided on the wet road, with a person being massively trapped in the car. Despite the fast commitment of several fire brigades, including Maria Saal, St. Michael am Zollfeld, St. Donat and St. Veit, all help came too late, as ORF Carinthia reported. While the accident is still being examined by the police, the road had to be completely blocked, which sets up a detour via the Zollfeld State Road.

But that was not the only accident that day: on the snow -covered Görtschitztalstraße near St. Thomas am Zeiselberg there was also a serious incident in which both drivers were injured and medical first aid needed. These incidents unfold the need for more comprehensive security measures, given the danger that arises from the narrow streets and inadequate middle separation. The urgency of such measures has often been cited in the past, but they remain unchanged. As notes the fire brigade Klagenfurt-Land , annual number of accidents are alarm and require immediate action.
