New Year's Eve: 13-year-old is seriously injured in firing!
Klagenfurt, Österreich - already before the celebrations at the turn of the year there was a serious incident in Carinthia. A 13-year-old young person from the Villach-Land district was seriously injured when he tried to ignore a firecracker in the F2 category. The young man broke the firecracker in the middle and put the fireworks material into a plastic can before flaring it up with a cord. The result was a violent detonation that severely injured him in the hand area. After an initial supply by the emergency doctor, he had to be flown to the Klagenfurt Clinic, such as Klick-kaernten.at reported.
preparation for a chaotic New Year's Eve in Berlin
in Berlin, New Year's Eve is classified as potentially dangerous, especially because of the ongoing discussions about attacks on the police and rescue workers from recent years. After the shocking New Year's Eve 2022/23, when numerous attacks on emergency services were recorded, the police union (GdP) has requested a ban on sales for fireworks - an application that has so far been ignored by politics. This year, the police are expecting reinforcements, especially in three Böller ban zones: on Alexanderplatz, in the stonemason bike and on Sonnenallee in Neukölln. These measures are to be supported by around 3,000 emergency services, such as berlin-live.de reported.
The Berlin fire brigade will be willing with 1,500 emergency services in order to be able to react quickly in possible emergencies. Despite the announcements, the GdP sees a lack of specific measures that could prevent violations of the emergency services. It remains to be seen whether 2023 will bring a quieter New Year's Eve or is again shaped by incidents that question the security of the citizens and the emergency services.
