Willendorf, Österreich - A dramatic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Willendorf when a truck collided at an untrained level crossing with an approaching train set of the Puchbergerbahn. The truck driver apparently overlooked the approaching train, which then rammed him and dragged him several meters. The alarm "Train against truck" pulled an extensive rescue team to the scene of the accident, including several vehicle occupants, emergency helicopter and police strips. Due to the incident, both the B26 in the accident area and the Puchbergerbahn was closed to the duration of the operational measures. The traffic was redirected and a replacement of rails was introduced. The damage to the truck and train is considerable and the rescue work was coordinated by the Willendorf volunteer fire brigade. Fortunately, the alcohol tests of those involved were negative, which excludes further explanations for the accident.
