In the night of Wednesday, November 13th, Fulda was shaken by a dramatic incident! A smoking garbage bag in an apartment on Walahfridstrasse caused excitement and triggered an alarm that called the fire brigade onto the scene. At 4:07 a.m. the shrill alarm of the smoke detector sounded, but the 69-year-old resident initially remained unsuspecting in his apartment.

Happiness in misfortune! An attentive 36-year-old neighbor heard the beep and acted immediately. She alerted the fire brigade, which was quickly on hand and prevented worse. The resident was taken to the hospital for an examination to rule out possible flue gas poisoning. Fortunately, there was no damage to property, but the incident shows how important it is to pay attention to the signals of smoke detectors!

But that was not the only incident in Fulda! The day before, there was a smaller fire in the basement of an apartment building on Zentzenhofer Straße. Here, too, four people had to be taken to the hospital with suspicion of flue gas poisoning. The fire brigade is on alert and the citizens should remain vigilant!
