Enigmatic smell triggers a large alarm in Schwarzenbek! Fire brigade in action!

Schwarzenbek. A mysterious gas alarm made the fire brigade upheld on Thursday! An indefinable, sweet and biting smell caused a large contingent of emergency services at the renowned company fat compacting. The alarm reached the fire brigade at 11:30 a.m., and soon the Grabauer Straße was flooded with emergency vehicles. The emergency services and police were also on site to check the situation.

The fire brigade, under the direction of Timo Lehmann, carried out intensive measurements, but the cause remained in the dark. "We could not find an unusual smell," said Lehmann. Despite the respiratory protection masks and closing the hall gates, the sweet smell remained unnecessary. The employees reported that this smell had already occurred, but the rescuers found no evidence of a source of danger. Ammonia is stored in the affected hall, and a large oil tank is also accommodated there, which made the situation more explosive.

Fire brigade is desperately looking for the cause

After the emergency call from the company, the keyword "gas leakage" was triggered, and the fire brigade requested reinforcements. Emergency services from Lauenburg, Geesthacht and Grabau hurried to get to the bottom of the matter. Several squads with breathing apparatus searched the hall and even the crawl cellar, but all efforts remained without a concrete result. "It could have been battery acid from the charging station for forklifts," Lehmann said, but there were no findings here either. After two hours of intensive search, the emergency services finally retired without clarifying the cause of the alarm.

The employees of the affected hall were evacuated as a precaution and waited in the company's casino until they were finally able to return to their jobs. The incident not only kept the fire brigade in breath, but also put the entire workforce into excitement!
