Glashütte, Deutschland - The first weekend in Advent was celebrated in Horn and Baruther Glashütte! The Mödinger volunteer fire brigade organized an inviting punch stand in front of the village community center, where many guests came together despite the frosty temperatures. "We were allowed to spoil our numerous guests with punch variations and cold drinks," said Commandant Hannes Pucher. In addition to the hot drinks, there were also sweet and hearty dishes served by the firefighters. Guests could warm up at the fireplaces or in the warm village community center. The proceeds of the event flows into the purchase and maintenance of the fire brigade equipment.

At the same time, a wonderful Christmas market took place in Baruther Glashütte, which made the first Advent weekend a highlight for families. On the two days, November 30th and December 1st, over 70 market stalls in the charming outdoor area and in various buildings of the monument location were open. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors were able to enjoy a romantic market drive and experience Santa Claus and the snow queen, who brought sweet surprises to the children. Musical performances such as the Advent singing of the Goersch’s choir community and appearances by the "Cottbus music sparrows" ensured a festive atmosphere. The Christmas market thus offered an ideal ambience for a relaxed family outing.
