New small fire engine for Hötzum: Fire brigade ready for use!

"Florian Wolfenbüttel 28-40-8 will be ready for use"-

New small fire engine could be handed over

on Saturday, November 2nd, it was finally time! The Hötzum local fire brigade celebrated the official handover of its new small fire engine (KLF) from the community administration. Local fire chief Lukas Hans and his team shone for joy when numerous guests, including the mayor Marco Kelb and other dignitaries, appeared for the celebration. A moment full of pride and community that made the long waiting time forgotten for the new vehicle.

The history of the Hötzum fire brigade is an exciting journey through time. From the modest syringe with a hose of only 90 meters in 1874 to modern vehicles that are used today. After a decision by the velvet community to replace fire engines after 30 years, it was decided in December 2021 that the local fire brigades Hötzum and Apelnstedt need new vehicles. On July 25, 2022, the velvet community administration granted the orders for two small extinguishers. But the delivery was delayed, and only on September 12, 2024 the comrades were able to pick up their new KLF. This vehicle has already passed its "baptism of fire" and was in three missions.

a quantum leap in fire engineering

The costs for the new vehicle amount to an impressive 130,000 euros, with the support association of the Hötzum volunteer fire brigade contributed around 2,800 euros. Equipped with modern features such as a tablet and a compressed air martin horn, the KLF not only offers security, but also efficiency. Mayor Marco Kelb emphasized that the waiting time for the vehicle was longer than planned, but the joy of arrival is all the greater. "This new vehicle is a quantum leap compared to the outgoing car," said Kelb. With 1,000 liters of water and a light mast, the KLF is well equipped for the challenges of the fire brigade.

The handover was accompanied by honors and promotions, including the promotion of Moritz Glotz to the chief fire fighter and Jens Neddermeyer to the chief extinguishing master. A special highlight was the awarding of the honor for 60 years of membership to main firefighter Klaus Bandurski. The celebration ended with a photo of the honored and the new vehicle, which is now ready to ensure the security of the community.
