A dramatic incident shook the region around Villingen-Schwenningen when an ultra-light helicopter tried an emergency landing on Sunday, February 9, 2025. According to reports from Krone the helicopter, in which there were two hobby pilots, went to the ground in a forest near Greding, about 100 kilometers north of Munich. So far, the exact cause of the crash, which is now examined by the authorities, remains unclear.

The situation was extremely tense when the pilot apparently tried to control the aircraft back to the nearby model airfield before it landed uncontrollably on a meadow next to the country road. Eyewitnesses reported that two men saw the machine that got into the spin and immediately intervened. They hit a disc to save the two occupants, the 60-year-old pilot and the 29-year-old co-pilot. Just a few moments later, the aircraft went up in flames and burned almost completely, such as Südkurier reported.

The fire brigade took care of the extinguishing of the burning helicopter and ensured that the scene was secured.
