Home fire in Wiblingen: 50 residents brought to safety!

A dramatic fire shook the high -rise settlement in the Ulm district of Wiblingen on Saturday evening. Shortly before 6 p.m., a fire broke out on a balcony on the fourth floor, which resulted in an immediate evacuation of the affected house and the surrounding buildings. Fortunately, a total of 50 people, including a handicapped person, could be saved in good time, such as Ulm-news reported. Despite the dramatic situation, there were no injuries because the fire brigade could act quickly.

damage of 500,000 euros

The fire brigade had to act from two turntable ladders when the fire was extinguished, since the flames quickly attacked other balconies and smoke penetrated into the stairwell. Over 60 firefighters fought the flames and had largely deleted the fire after around an hour. However, the post -extinguishing work was difficult because embers had formed in building insulation. The use of thermal imaging cameras could be fought specifically. The estimated damage, including water damage from the smoke, amounts to around half a million euros, according to the fire brigade.

Another fire was reported on Sunday in the basement of a high -rise building in Wiblingen. At 4 p.m., a fire broke out in the second basement, which could be quickly brought under control. 51 people had to be evacuated, while the smoke moved to the top floors over pipelines. Like SWR.de reported, remained smoke-free. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire brigade, everyone remained intact, the residents were able to return after a few hours.
