Great fire in Hürth: Over 30 injuries in dormitory for students!
In a dramatic incident in Hürth-Echnen, a fire broke out in the stairwell of a student house on Hahnenstrasse early Friday morning, December 20, around 5:30 a.m. Over 30 people suffered injuries, which led to the alert of a "mass attack of injured" (MANV). The fire brigade and emergency services from the entire district were immediately mobilized. More than 40 emergency services, both full -time and volunteer firefighters, were on site and saved those affected via a turntable ladder and through the stairwell from the affected floors. The fire brigade was able to quickly control the fire, which produced large clouds of smoke, while the police also supported the site of the Rhein-Erft district. Details on the cause of the fire have not been published so far, as Fundschau online
The fire brigade in Halle (Saale) was also called for a fire in Rudolf-Ernst-Reise Strasse just a few days earlier. Here the fire brigade had to be switched on against late Monday evening to save residents from an apartment building. Due to considerable smoke development, the use of a turntable ladder was necessary to safely bring eight people and a dog to safety. In this case too, at least one person was brought to the hospital seriously injured, and two fire brigade guards and the Halle-Büschdorf volunteer fire brigade were deployed. The circumstances of the fire are now examined by the police, such as Mz reported.
