Great fire in Eichgraben: Fire brigade fights against flames in the house!

Oberhof bei Zwettl, Österreich - A dramatic use of the fire brigade took place on December 23, 2024 in Lower Austria. While a vegetation fire in Oberhof was fought in Zwettl, a basement fire in St. Pölten alerted the emergency services. Fortunately, the Zwettl-Stadt volunteer fire brigade was able to quickly delete the fire with a high-pressure jet tube and exclude another danger from embers with a thermal imager. The fire in the basement of St. Pölten also caused panic, but could be deleted quickly without the injured person. In addition, there was also a traffic accident between Artstetten and Klein Pöchlarn, whereby the Klein Pöchlarn fire brigade had to move in to salvage, but was not injured, like Meinbezirk.at reported.

Great fire in Eichgraben

Another major fire in Eichgraben, which broke out on Friday morning, presented the emergency services with an even greater challenge. According to Kurier.at 60 firefighters fought against the fire from a workshop on an adjacent residential building. To fight the flames, the roof of the building had to be opened because the roof structure was already on fire. Eight respiratory protection teams were busy extinguishing the fire in both the workshop and on the roof of the house. Thanks to the rapid reaction of the emergency services, all residents were able to leave the building in good time, and luckily there were no injuries.

The fire brigade in Eichgraben is still in progress, and the duration of the extinguishing work remains uncertain. The firefighters use strong ventilation devices to derive the smoke from the affected living rooms and defuse the situation. The first alarm level B3 illustrates the seriousness of the situation and the extensive measures that are taken to control the fire.
