Aircraft accident in South Korea: 28 deaths in disaster at Muan Airport

Muan, Südkorea - A tragic misfortune occurred at Muan International Airport in South Korea when a passenger aircraft of the Korean cheap airline Jeju Air from Bangkok crashed with 181 people on board when landing. The Boeing 737-8AS overflows the runway and crashed into a fence, which led to a devastating fire. At least 28 people were killed on Sunday morning (local time), and the number of victims could still increase, as ZDF reported. Three people could be recovered during the rescue campaigns that occurred immediately after the incident.

The machine was scheduled to land shortly after 9 a.m. (local time) when the accident occurred. A short -term video shows how the aircraft slips over the runway without a fold -out chassis and finally rises in flames. The fire brigade was quickly on site and hired the extinguishing work, while the search for surviving passengers began, such as vienna.at to report. It is believed that a bird strike, i.e. a collision with birds, could have led to the chassis to the serious incident.
