In the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district, the Pöllau volunteer fire brigade has occurred. In the afternoon of December 25, 2024, a fire unleashed on the green section of Pöllau, the cause of which is still unclear, rapid reactions from the firefighters. The emergency services were quickly on hand and were able to control the flames quickly. But that was not the only effort for the fire brigade that day. Just an hour later, the troop was called to a storm damage on the Masenberg. A fallen tree blocked the road and provided additional alarm. The next assignment followed shortly after 7.30 p.m. when the Fire Brigade Wenigzell requested support. A tree had fallen on a power line and was questionable. In close cooperation with the Feitritzwerke, the tree was removed with a loading crane and a chainsaw. The last mission was completed at 10 p.m., so that the Pöllau volunteer fire brigade had an intensive Christmas evening.
