On Monday evening, February 24, 2025, a fire broke out on the balcony of an apartment building in Oberwart (BGLD), which triggered an immediate use of the fire brigade. The exact causes of the fire have so far been unclear, but the police have already initiated investigations on the matter, as Oberwart (BGLD) reported. In order to prevent the spread of the flames to neighboring apartments, the Oberwart fire brigade was quickly on site with four vehicles and 17 emergency services.

Under heavy breathing protection, the emergency services fought the flames and also used thermal imaging cameras to recognize possible hidden embers. After around 90 minutes, the assignment, in which luckily no injuries were not complained of, could be successfully ended.
