Foundation stone laying: New tool shed planned for Schashagen!
Schashagen. An exciting day for the fire brigade in Groß Schlamin! Dozens of firefighters in uniform gathered to celebrate the laying of the foundation stone for their new tool shed. After years of delays caused by bureaucratic hurdles and even breeding toilet, the construction is finally in sight. The volunteer fire brigade had already taken the first step in 2016 to talk to the community. Mayor Rainer Holtz (CDU) recalled that the new building was decided in 2018, but numerous problems with the state and the district ensured a standstill.
The challenges are diverse: the existing equipment houses are often outdated, with insufficient space for modern vehicles and lack of changing space. The construction costs, which were originally valued at 1.2 million euros, have now risen to around three million euros. Anna Lüth, the head of the Hoch- und Tiefbau specialist service, said that around 750,000 euros from state and federal funds are available to support the financing. "There are currently no funding for the construction or renovation of fire horses from the country," says Lüth.
a construction with many hurdles
The laying of the foundation stone was not only a ceremony, but also a sign for the many hurdles that the project had to overcome. Concerns about the construction of a meeting room for 65 people led to fears that local restaurants could get competition. In addition, the linen, who brooded twice, provided for months of delays. Architect Harm Hoffmann commented: "We could only wait." The new tool shed is to be completed by the end of 2025 and will be the fourth out of a total of 16 modern equipment houses in the Ostholstein-Mitte office.
The fire brigade in Shashagen also plans to build a new tool shed for three vehicles, while in Roge another new construction project is due in Roge. The necessity of new and modernized fire station is noticeable in the entire region, since many existing buildings no longer meet the current requirements.
