Volunteering in action: Fire Brigade Lendorf looks back on successful balance sheet
The volunteer fire brigade (FF) Lendorf presented an impressive balance at its annual general meeting, where Commandant Michael Mayer welcomed numerous guests of honor. The number of members of the fire brigade is increasing continuously: As of the deadline 1st January 2025, FF Lendorf includes 78 members, including 56 active people and seven young people. In the past year, impressive 70 missions were made, which claimed a total of 1,134 hours. This included five fire operations and 65 technical operations. Particularly noteworthy is the intensive training: 26 firefighters completed 45 further training courses and invested 828 hours in personal training. The meeting was also an opportunity to honor deserving members and record new comrades, as fireworld.at reported.
handover of a new chainsaw
Another significant moment for the FF Lendorf was the generous donation of the Hirschberg tech community. The Zechmeister Martin Schwinger handed over a new Stihl motor saw to Commandant Michael Mayer and his deputy Mario Kapeller. This new saw will replace the previous chainsaw. The members of the fire brigade were grateful for this support and the good cooperation between the clubs. The Zechgemeinschaft also expressed its thanks for the voluntary work of the fire brigade, as the neighborhood camaraderie underlined, as meinbezirk.at reported.
At the meeting, the farewell to comradeship leader Friedrich Helmut Hohenberger was also celebrated, who resigned his function due to age after 21 years. His services to the cohesion between young and old were recognized with great applause, and he received the silver cross of honor of the community. The choice of his previous deputy Hubert Lassnig as the new head of the fire brigade is also gratifying, while Patrick Rauter takes over the role of deputy. Commandant Mayer finally thanked all members for their tireless efforts and the excellent cooperation, and the meeting was ended with a warm "good holy".
