Fire risk in Kleinmurbisch: 80-year-old saved, cause unclear!
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, an 80-year-old man in Kleinmurbisch got into an acute danger situation. Around 1 p.m. he took a strong smell of smoking in his sleep, which quickly waved it out. The Kleinmurbisch fire brigade was quickly on hand and immediately started the extinguishing work. In order to control the fire, which was caused by a possible defect on the cooling unit, the weirs from Inzenhof and Güssing were also brought in. The quick intervention of the emergency services prevented the flames from spreading further. Nevertheless, the 80-year-old was admitted to the LKH Güssing with suspicion of flue gas poisoning, as well as burgenland.orf.at confirmed. The police immediately initiated the cause of the fire, whereby it is currently being examined whether other technical defects played a role. The rapid use of the fire brigade and the quick reaction of the man have probably prevented worse and show how important quick action is in emergency situations.
