cause and fire course
The fire brigade assumes that paper schnitzel that had accumulated in the ventilation of the printing press triggered the fire. The section commander Mateusz Fryn explained that the fire remained limited to the ventilation tube. Despite the deployment of numerous firefighters, it quickly managed to bring the flames under control, which led to a quick end to the dangerous situation.
The quick reaction of the fire brigade and the lack of injured people give rise to relief. Nevertheless, the incident showed how dangerous fires can be in industrial areas, even if they are limited to individual components. The affected branches are now still attentively monitored in order to minimize possible risks.
